There a millions of niches to target. Competition is going to vary. Some niches there is no money in as that group does not want spend online or have money in that field of endeavor. Actually, some CPA/CPV offers do not require the person to pay anything and you get paid if they just fill out some simple information, sometimes just an email and the company will pay a commission. It is recommended to test a little with pay per click or some other advertising before spending gobs of time writing or working in that area when there is little or no potential to profit unless you just want to run a hobby of coarse.
A quick way to get started is using a keyword tool and see what the bidders are paying for the various keywords in that field. Also, see what the competitive websites offer. Look at the ads already there if there are few or no ads this usually means that it is not lucrative, not always but usually.
The more advertisers there are this usually means the money is there but not always. The internet is fairly new and there are other niches especially in other countries that are not even explored but are lucrative with few advertisers.
